Campus Style: Summer Isn't Dead

Campus Style: Summer Isn't Dead

As we all know, or very easily may not have known, it's officially Fall. 'Tis the season for boots, sweaters, bonfires ... and 95 degree weather? If you're living in the south you know exactly what I'm talking about. Here in South Georgia it seems like the weather got just a little hotter at the start of the new season, so walking to class has honestly been unbearable. Not that I'm complaining, because now I have a few extra weeks to wear the last of my summer attire before transitioning into my coziest cardigans. I'm a little behind (as always), so the day I wore this outfit, which was exactly a week ago, it felt like it was the middle of July. This week, a cold front must have came through because I was able to wear black leggings on campus without my legs feeling like a crisp piece of bacon. THAT is the kind of weather I like. But as soon as it drops below 60 I'll be wishing for the heat to make another appearance.

Outfit Deets

I'm typically not a matchy-matchy person when it comes to what I wear, but my top and shoes (Charlotte Russe) went together so perfectly that I just had to. I've worn these low-heeled sandals in one of my posts a month or so ago and I was raving over how comfortable they are to walk in. Now I'm here to do it all over again. Not only did I walk on the campus's jagged cobblestone, I went and stood on my feet for four hours while at work. And I work in retail, so I would go from helping a customer choose an outfit to helping another customer in the fitting room to ringing up another customer's purchase to cleaning up the table that they just destroyed. My point is, I was going back and forth nonstop and I didn't feel the slightest bit of discomfort. Overall, it was just a comfy outfit. My jeans are the high-waisted ankle skinny jeans from H&M, but clearly their target audience was for the taller ladies, hence, why I had to roll them up twice. But I like the rolled up look more than the straight look anyway so it worked out. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that these jeans kind of have a wide leg opening, so they're on the verge of being straight legged versus skinny. Lastly, since I had my color coordination to a T, I needed to throw in another color that would've popped a little. I choose the blush hat (Charlotte Russe) for that reason, and also because I only have four hats to choose from, so it's not like I had an array of choices to choose from anyway. As with several other aspects of my wardrobe, I'm planning on working on my hats as well so just wait on it! I'm currently extremely unstable as far as my finances goes because adulting is kicking my ass.
