Chic for Summer
This Summer is dedicated to wearing ridiculously cute date night outfits and busting out the pairs of heels I've never worn. And believe me, it's a lot of them. Unfortunately, I'm that girl that buys shoes on impulse, not because I need them or actually have something to match. So several impulse buys later, over a course of a few years, here I am, a broke college student basking in the glory of having shoe options to choose from. Basking in the glory? Yes, you read that correctly. As long as I live, I'll never feel bad about adding to my wardrobe. It may not be the most financially responsible, but at the end of the day, the best investment you can make is in yourself. And on top of that, you can't take the money with you when you're gone, so spend it while you can -My grandma.
Outfit Deets
Believe it or not, I had this outfit planned for weeks in my head. I saw the top ($23) at Charlotte Russe and immediately started thinking about what I was going to pair it with. I already owned the jeans (Bullhead Denim, $12) and the shoes (Rue21, $5), so honestly all I had to do is buy the top and the jewelry. The original plan was to wear a pair of extremely distressed jeans, but since date night consisted of going to a nice restaurant I figured that may not have been the most appropriate choice. Stupid me, because those jeans really topped off the look and I abandoned them. All for some sauteed spinach, loaded mashed potatoes, and shrimp and scallops. But it was worth it, because that food was absolutely amazing. I'm crying just thinking about it. Anyway, enough of that. I was not joking when I said that I got these shoes for $5. One morning I woke up and decided to get on the Rue21 website and they were having this major flash sale. So instead of spending $30 on these babies I got them for $5. Call me conceited, but I am the queen in finding deals on shoes.
